A routine you can keep up with
We make the responsibilities clear, including what we need from you to keep the books moving.
-
Review the starting point
We look at your accounts, recent activity, and the condition of the books. If older periods need cleanup, we identify that first.
-
Keep the daily work moving
We categorize activity, reconcile accounts, and handle invoicing and bill payments within the agreed scope and approval process.
-
See where things stand
You get routine financial reports, visibility into unpaid invoices and upcoming bills, and a clear list of anything still unresolved.
The everyday work, covered
We agree on the scope around your accounts and transaction volume. Typical bookkeeping work includes:
- Categorizing income and expenses
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts
- Accounts receivable: customer invoicing and payment tracking
- Accounts payable: bill entry and approved payment processing
- Organizing supporting records
- Identifying missing or duplicate transactions
- Recording owner contributions and draws
- Preparing profit and loss and balance sheet reports
- Tracking questions that need your input
- Keeping records organized for year-end and tax work
Accounts receivable (AR)
Keep customer invoicing and incoming payments organized.
- Preparing and sending customer invoices.
- Applying customer payments to invoices and reconciling receipts.
- Tracking open and overdue invoices, with follow-up items kept visible.
Accounts payable (AP)
Keep vendor bills, due dates, and payments moving through a clear process.
- Entering and categorizing vendor bills, with supporting records.
- Tracking due dates and preparing payment runs for approval.
- Processing approved payments and keeping vendor balances current.
Agree on the work first
Tell us which accounts you use, how current the books are, and what you want to hand over. If you need AR or AP support, include your invoicing and bill payment volume. We confirm the scope, approval responsibilities, fee, and timing in writing.
If prior periods need cleanup, we identify that separately so the starting point is clear.
Ask about bookkeepingQuestions about bookkeeping
Can you handle invoicing and bill payments?
Yes. Bookkeeping can include customer invoicing, payment tracking, vendor bill processing, and approved payments. We agree on who approves invoices and payments, the access needed, and the schedule before work starts.
How is bookkeeping different from monthly accounting and close?
Bookkeeping keeps routine transactions, reconciliations, and agreed AR and AP work moving. Monthly accounting and close adds work such as adjusting entries, supporting schedules, balance sheet review, and a formal reporting package. We help you choose the scope that fits.
What if my books are already behind?
We review the gaps first. If earlier periods need repair, we scope cleanup separately and agree on when recurring bookkeeping can begin.
Can you also help with my taxes?
Yes. EJC Financial offers personal and business tax preparation and filing. We confirm tax work separately from bookkeeping so you know what each service includes.
What should I send to get started?
A short note about your business, accounts, and how current the books are is enough. Keep account numbers and records out of the contact form. We arrange secure access after we reply.
